Dear Mr. McGrath:

I wanted to make sure you knew how much I appreciated your work on my case. The amount of money involved in my case was so small that most lawyers would not have been willing to help me. The insurance company claimed the accident was my fault and a lawyer who did not ride would not have known how to answer that claim.

It was important to me to have my day in court and despite the small amount of money involved and the amount of effort that it took, you made sure that I got my day in court. For that, I am grateful. Thanks for your effort, your concern, and the great job.

Sincerely,
James E. Nevins

Mr. McGrath and his team personify excellence, professionalism, and above all: personalized customer serviceBeven when dealing with a difficult client such as how I can only imagine I was.

Over the first few months after my m/c accident in which I was taken out by a woman pulling a hard left U-turn (in the middle of the street as I was passing her on the left) I don't remember much but random flashes of odd & sometimes discordant things (that may or may not have been real). But over those months of recovering with what was eventually diagnosed as a moderate Traumatic Brain Injury (TBI), I do remember the kind and reassuring way in which I was treated by both Tom and his assistants, especially Janet, who put up with a literal barrage of phone calls from me during that time (just looking for someone to ask questions, talk to and on whom I probably viciously vented a few times) while I was in a dazed and confused state bestowed upon me in an accident.

The verbal assaults, the rocks and stones of uncontrollable rage and outbursts of expletives resulting from the TBI exacerbated by the inability to remember or comprehend much of what was going around me which were thrown at Janet over the phone lines ...it must have been at least difficult if not offensive at timesBand she took it. At no time did she ever make me feel as though I was even the slightest bit of a bother.

As she and Tom are both riders themselves, they were and are both aware of the symptoms of TBI's often suffered by riders in an accident. I was psychologically soothed and coached by the two of them as they patiently dealt with my "weirdness"... The recovery process was one that, as described by medical professionals at WRAMC, was not doubt greatly aided, even expedited, bye the way in which they dealt with me, especially Janet's phone line manner in which she handled and gently combated my rants during our conversations.

They helped me in many more ways that just by handling all the legal stuff.

As promised, Tom secured for me the maximum amount of compensations possible, and I never doubted him, what he told me he was going to do, or his capabilities for a second. It would take about 3 guys Tom's size to out-weigh me, but when he walks into a room, and I would imagine when he takes the floor in a courtroom, he owns it.

Combine this with the up-front, plain language Atell-me-if-you-don't-understand-something-and-I'll-explain-it-to-you@ way in which Tom communicates and you have an unbeatable team of professionals which left me wishing for only one thing- that I had been insured properly...

Even now, years later, I still 'brag' about Tom: "He's the guy who got riders the authority to use the HOV lane during AM/PM drive times!!"

If you need representation in Tom's area...there's nobody else to go to!

Dear Tom and Staff,

I wanted to express my heartfelt thanks for the great work you did on my behalf. You and your staff were always available to answer any questions that Carrianne or I may have had. Your assistance in handing all the insurance and medical billing correspondence, along with the final negotiations made our terrible situation much easier to cope with.

While I hope that none of our friends or acquaintances ever has an accident that requires legal representation, you can be assured that we will highly recommend your firm.

We were always treated with respect and had the feeling that we mattered. You have a professional operation and we feel fortunate to have had it on our side.

Many Thanks,
Michael Zimmerman and Carrianne Carter

Dear Mr. McGrath;

Complete satisfaction is an understatement. Your firm contributed more than we thought possible in the settling of my accident case. For most of the time we have been in touch, you have been more like family than a lawyer.

My wife and I appreciate your services, compassion and dedication shown by you and all of your associates. You have become a dear friend and we will remain in contact with you.

Respectfully yours,
Lloyd G. Pugh II

Dear Tom,

Having seen your ad on the SPEED channel, I already knew of you when ****recommended I talk to you about my son’s motorcycle accident. I met you at one of your seminars at the state HOG rally in Fairfax and you invited me to call you with the details of the accident. You were available to guide me through the negotiation process with Farm Bureau Insurance via several phone calls. You even gave me your cell phone number in the event I needed to call you while you were on vacation.

My son, Grant and I are indebted to you and extremely grateful for your assistance. The satisfactory settlement he received wouldn’t have happened without your guiding us all the way.

Again, Tom, thank you for what you did for Grant and thank you for what you do for motorcyclists and the image of motorcycling.

Regards,
William W. Osborne

I attended your insurance seminar on Saturday at the VA State Harley Rally. I asked the question if I could add uninsured/underinsured to my umbrella policy. My agent stated that Erie stopped that in 1997.

However, I could increase my injury and uninsured from $250,000/500,000 to 1,000,000/1,000,000 for an additional $14 on my motorcycle policy (lowering my umbrella premium by $5.00). I could also raise my limits on my auto policy to the same amount for $30.00, so I did both. I raised both the liability and uninsured for $14.00 per year. My policy was $578.00. It is now $592.00 and as stated previously, my umbrella decreased by $5.00, so it actually cost $9.00!

Thank you for your help. I am sending a contribution to the Virginia Coalition of Motorcyclists to help you continue your great work!

Sincerely,
Richard Johnson

Matt,

Jay and I would like to thank you for all of the help you have given us. We are grateful to have found someone like you to help us through everything. You have done so much for us and we would have been completely lost if it wasn’t for you and your office, especially Jamie. It is reassuring to know that we have someone we can turn to in the future if we need to. We appreciate and value your friendship as well, and everyone that knows us now knows of you because we had to let everyone know what a terrific help you have been and where they should go if they ever need to. Please let us know if there is ever anything at all we can do for you. It was an absolute pleasure dealing with you. You are truly a wonderful miracle that came into our lives right when we needed it most. We are forever grateful.

Thank you,

Amber and Jay

Dear Matt & Mike

I wanted to take a moment to thank you both for your efforts and seeing me through the entire insurance process over the course of the last year.  I simply could not have done it without you.  You were patient with me as I asked questions, trying to understand and fathom both the situation I found myself in and the process as it progressed.  I appreciate all of the time and effort you expended.
Don't take it the wrong way, but hopefully, when we meet again, it will be under totally different circumstances.

Best Regards,

Scott W. Olsen

Dear Tom,

I am a VA resident and just read in the Motorcycle Consumer News about your successful suit against Allstate. I have had your card in my desk for two years now and would certainly call on you if a negligent driver were to injure me on my bike. Thanks for repeatedly coming to the aid of Virginia Motorcyclists, particularly in important cases.

Sincerely,
Paul Hogroian

I really do appreciate all that you have done for me. All your kind words, concerns and answers to all my questions. Everyone has been so nice and helpful. That really meant a lot to me. Just wanted you to know I have been back to work full time and am looking for a home. And yes Matt, I have been riding a little. Just taking one day at a time. I just wanted to thank each and every one of you.

Sincerely,

Vincent Barton
